Old Business –

PPSSD – Supervisor J Stegmeir stated that there was 1 alarm reported this past month, other than that things are going fine.

Community Sewer Project – VNP Clean Water Funds were authorized, 1.4 million dollars.  Kabetogama had asked for $50,000 which we should get.  The money should be portioned out sometime in the next two months and set the accounts out with MN Pollution Control Agency.  There will be a phone meeting tomorrow with the sewer committee.  Discussion will be on funding and acquisition of land.  The Sept. Joint Powers Board meeting will be help on September 22, here at Kabetogama at 10:00am.  They are looking to hold this meeting at an area business.

Roads – Supervisor J Stegmeir was unable to connect with the calcium chloride people for our area.  The county has been contacted regarding the wild parsnip growing along the area roads.  They said they have sprayed already for it and the mowing along the sides of the roads will be done as soon as they get their mowers repaired.

Community Center – Septic Check pumped 1500 gallons from the septic tanks.  The float is not working in the septic tank, a light would be a much better solution to this problem. Supervisor M Tomczak received an estimate for an electric alarm system.  The estimate is $500.00 for the indoor alarm electrical wire and misc. parts and insulation and the mini excavator for digging the trench for the electric line from the tank to the building and hook up the floats to the alarm is $1,720.00 for a total of $2,220.00.  The board would like to have a light that could be seen from the road of possible.  Supervisor M Tomczak will talk with Septic Check to see of a light would be possible.  The barrel that is over the old well needs to have some kind of sign or something telling people that it is not a garbage can.   Nick Taylor has been contacted to snake the line from the building to the tank.  Rocky Lehto mowed the ditch, along the back and side of the building.

Other – Betsey Warrington attended the meeting regarding the work being done at the walleye.  Greg House has agreed to keep up with weed removal.  Betsey Warrington brought a total of the cost to date for the rehab at the walleye.  The balance is $2,600.00.  Supervisor J Stegmeir moved to allow the township to pay the balance of this work, seconded by Supervisor M Tomczak, all voting aye, motion carried.

New Business –   The township was contacted by Carol Haasl, SLC Public Health.  They wanted to know if the township felt the need to host a vaccine clinic at the Town Hall.  There are vaccinations available at the clinic in the falls every Thursday.  The board wants to keep a line open with them if the need becomes necessary.

Supervisor J Stegmeir made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor M Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
M Manninen, Clerk
